Fun Floral Dress

Summer is winding down, but there is still so much I’m loving about summer fashion and I’m not quite ready to move on just yet. Take for example this gorgeous lace up floral shift dress! It’s so light and breezy (perfect for this summer heat wave) and the low, criss-cross back makes it that much better.

I got this dress for under $50 from Nordstrom and I hate to say that it has ALREADY sold out. I swear that Nordstrom has been selling out of items so fast from the #NSALE, that I can barely blink! Although this dress wasn’t part of their anniversary sale, I apparently was not the only one who loved it. Keep checking back though because they tend to get popular items back in stock once they sell out.

Dress: Nordstrom, $48 -sold out (check back later!)
Shoes: Guess, old (almost identical, similar)
Watch: Michael Kors, Gift (similar, similar)
Ring: Baublebar in periwinkle, $34
Bag: Kate Spade, $238 (similar, similar) view the $7,800 designer version here -they are almost identical!
Earrings: Kendra Scott, $55 (similar)
Lip color: Sigma Beauty Pink Power Crayon, $15
Sunglasses: Francesca’s, $14

My other favorite thing about this look: the white wedges. I got these a few years ago and I remember shopping for a pair for FOREVER before finally finding these. Mostly, I was worried about them getting dirty, but I am just extremely picky when it comes to white shoes because I felt like a lot of the ones I found were tacky. These are everything BUT, and I got them from DSW –so well under retail price!

I got the pink Kate Spade bag on super sale! Every now and then they will have a sale on sale with an extra 25-30% off sale items. *Make sure you sign up for their emails! I saw this bag a while ago and the $398 price tag was easy to resist. It went on sale a couple of weeks ago and then I was able to get an additional 25% off! It matched perfect with the light pink in this dress and I was so excited to pair the two together.

I am so bummed that this dress sold out before y’all were able to have the chance to purchase it -but like I said, make sure to check back as they usually restock hot items! Luckily, there are tons of beautiful floral print dresses out there and I was able to pull a bunch of my favorites together for you to shop below:

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

White Cold Shoulder Shift Dress

I luckily stumbled across this website a few weeks ago and I had to share it with ya’ll! The prices are amazing and I was quite impressed with the quality. I purchased this white off the shoulder dress and this bag (among a few other items). With these 2 pieces, I was able to put together this ENTIRE outfit for UNDER $100!

Dress:, $13 (yes, THIRTEEN!)
Bag:, $29 (view the $2,000 designer dupe) –you can barely tell the difference!
Earrings: Baublebar, $38 (sign up for 20% off)
Shoes: Kently,, $14 (sold out in this color, see similar here for $15)
***For JustFab you do need to sign up, but you can cancel at any time***

When you add it all up, I spent a total of $94 on this entire outfit/look! I still find it hard to believe myself. As you know, the cut out shoulder is totally in this summer and I loved that I was able to find this piece at such an affordable price. It also incorporated the small ruffles, which add a fun, chic touch and makes it a little dressier.

Although I love the dress, I tried to make this outfit more about the accessories -particularly the matching shoe and earrings combo. This light mint blue is such a cool, unique color that I really wanted to make sure it stood out. You could re-create this look and make it your own by adding matching color combos of your favorite colors!

The only thing about the dress is that I thought it was a little too short, but there is enough fabric to let out the hem. For $13 I don’t mind spending a little extra on alterations. Just to let you know, orders from this website ship from overseas, so if you are ordering for a certain occasion, make sure to place your order well in advance. However, they do have a good return policy with a U.S. shipping location, so if something doesn’t work out, the return process is fairly simple.

These are some of the other items that I ordered and ended up keeping:

  1. Lace Trimmed Crochet Insert Kimono, $16 (choose from 4 other colors!)
  2. Blue Vertical Striped Ruffle Hem Blouse, $9
  3. White Lemon Print Ruffle Off The Shoulder Dress, $16
  4. Grey Striped Pocket Short Sleeve T, $8 (super soft and comfortable!)
  5. Multicolor Flower Print Tassel Kimono, $9

There is so much other stuff on this website that I liked! I obviously didn’t have time to go through it all but would love to hear feedback on some of your favorite pieces!

Pops of Pink!

Have you ever tried something on and loved it –but you were unsure how to style it? It usually happens a lot when I try on a solid colored dress with little to no detail. Instead of seeing this as a challenge, I started viewing it as a blank canvas to accessorize. One way I like to style a simple outfit is with pops of color and today I was feeling the pink!

I got this adorable black romper from Nordstrom and loved the comfy fit and the cute ruffles on the bottom of the shorts. I also bought it for under $40 on sale! The pink accessories are all last season but pink is always in, so I was able to find some dupes at extremely affordable prices.

Here you can see the ruffles a little bit better! This piece also comes in 2 different colors if you were looking for something a little brighter. If you go with one of the brighter options try to keep your accessory colors neutral (black, gold silver, tan, etc).

Romper: Nordstrom, $38
Shoes: Steve Madden, 4 years ago (similar, similar, similar)
Bag: Kate Spade from Nordstrom Rack, old (similar for $47!)
Necklace: Stella & Dot, old (similar)
Earrings: Stella & Dot, old (similar, similar)
Bracelet: Stella & Dot, old (similar, similar)

The only new piece that I bought from this entire outfit was the romper. I was able to style it with older pieces that I already had in my wardrobe. I recommend taking inventory of your accessories and seeing how you can match them together to make old outfits/pieces feel new! To shop other black rompers check out my older post on the LBR.

Palm Print Midi

Palm print patterns are popping up everywhere, which is strange since these prints have been a part of fashion design for decades. This tropical-inspired look will have you feeling like you’re at a resort –even if you’re stuck at home. There are so many modern interpretations of this timeless print and I just can’t get enough!

This was a new style dress for me (the midi dress), so I definitely stepped out of my comfort zone with this one but it was TOTALLY worth it! I love that this is a piece I can dress up for work with a pair of pumps, or keep it casual with ballet flats or sandals.

I absolutely loved this belt when I bought it, but after pairing it with this dress I love it even more! It is so flattering and slimming and really accentuates my curves and the fit of the dress. The brown leather belt with the matching leather sandals ties the entire outfit together.

Dress: Ann Taylor, $159 (60% off right now with code SUMMER60) I also love this option if you’re looking for something more flow-y.
Belt: White House Black Market, $54
Wedges: Jessica Simpson, old (similar)
Watch: SO & CO, old (similar –only $20!)
Earrings: Kendra Scott, old, ‘Alex’ style (similar, similar)
Ring: Baublebar, sold out (similar)
Bangles: Lilly Pulitzer, gifts with purchase (similar, similar)

Here are some of my other favorite palm print dresses:

One  |  Two  |  Three  |  Four  |  Five

I don’t have any tropical vacations coming up (unfortunately) but if you do, one of these pieces would be fabulous! Which are your favorites?

Pom-Pom Pieces

One of the many things I am loving right now: subtle pom-pom details! They add such a fun and flirty touch to your outfit and are hard to resist. The key to pulling off pom-pom pieces is to keep the rest of your look simple and let them be the focal point. Try this dress from Lilly Pulitzer –the gold crochet neckline with the pom-poms is playful but not overdone so you still look sophisticated.

This Saks Off Fifth beach bag with pom-pom detail dresses the outfit down and keeps it a little more casual. Unfortunately everyone else also loved this bag and it has sold out –BUT it will be back in stock so sign up for an alert here. For a more elegant look, ditch the beach bag and pair the dress with gold wedges and a gold clutch.

I love the fun swing silhouette –I couldn’t resist doing a little spin! 🙂 It’s made from crinkle material (which I am seeing a ton of) and is super comfy.

Dress: Lilly Pulitzer, $178 (also in white & navy) LOVE this option too, only $24
Beach Bag: Saks Off Fifth, $29/sold out (try these instead: similar, similar)
Wedges: Lilly Pulitzer, $198 (similar) also love these
Earrings: Stella and Dot, old (similar)
Watch: Michael Kors, gift (similar)
Stone Bracelets: Bourbon & Boweties, old (similar set, pink)
Link bracelet: Francesca’s, $22

In case you haven’t heard, today marks the beginning of Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale. If you don’t know by now, I LOVE a good sale –let’s be honest who doesn’t? However, this year it seems that Nordstrom went above and beyond and slashed prices lower than I have ever seen them before!

I did some browsing (ok, a lot of browsing) and picked out my top 10 favorites (some of which, I have already ordered). Trust me –this was NO easy feat. Most of the items included in this sale are for fall/winter –but it’s never too early to see the new upcoming trends for next season. I stocked up on a lot of basics for my fall wardrobe and most of these pieces you can wear now and transition into the fall.

1BAGThis bag was originally $45. To me, that’s not bad considering I would have probably spent that much on it anyway. With the sale, it’s only $30! It’s the perfect size too and can hold all of my ‘stuff.’ The tassel adds a cute, boho detail. Buy it here.

2GreenDress This dress by Lush was originally $48 and it’s now on sale for $32! It comes in 7 additional colors -all beautiful hues for the fall. Still trying to decide between this olive green and the burgundy, but one things for sure, this dress will look fabulous with a pair of boots! Buy it here.

Originally $58, I snagged this scarf by Hinge for only $38. The colors are PERFECT for fall. My favorite thing about this scarf is that it incorporates black with brown. I love my brown boots but hate that I can’t wear them with black skinnies or a black dress… this scarf would tie that look together so I could pull it off. I will definitely be wearing this a lot! Buy it here.

I got this Billabong dress for $36 (down from $55). I am obsessed with Navy and love the feminine floral print! The back crisscrosses but isn’t too low. I can’t wait to wear this with a pair of neutral boots in the fall! The dress also comes in one other color but I wasn’t too crazy about it. Buy it here.

Fall trend alert! There are so many long, oversized sweaters just like this that you can snag from the Anniversary sale. This gem was only $50 and was originally $78. You can also choose from FIVE other colors! I thought about getting it in black as well but I already have one from last year. ALSO, this comes in petite sizes if you want it a few inches shorter. Buy it here.

I have honestly been looking for a quality pair of black lace up flats for a few months now. I was so excited when I saw these and the price tag! Down from $90, I snatched these up for $60. They are also made by Halogen, so I know the quality is great!  Also available in 3 other colors including a burgundy, which I love! Buy it here.

This is a simple 3/4 sleeve top that you could wear with just about anything. Choose from 7 colors including this red, which I love, and an olive green. Heck for only $28 you might as well go ahead and grab more than one color. (Originally $42) Pair it with some denim skinnies and an oversized sweater (see #5) and you’re good to go! Buy it here.

8bootsThis is probably my favorite find from the Anniversary sale. UGG Boots -for $150! Originally $225 these boots are a steal! Because they are UGG I can already tell you with 99% certainty that they are comfortable. They are also water resistance -so not much maintenance and the color is going to match anything in your closet! Buy them here.

This Cargo Anorak Jacket by BP is only $44 and was originally $68. This lightweight jacket is a perfect transition piece. Layer over your favorite wardrobe pieces for a casual weekend look. It’s also available in black but right now I am loving this olive color green for fall -it’s literally everywhere! Buy it here.

Last but not least is this casual, strappy, long-sleeve woven blouse. It’s also available in a dark red and navy for only $32 (originally $48). The straps going across the neckline give this top an elegant look. This is something you could wear to work during the day and dress up for a night out. Buy it here.

It was extremely hard to narrow down EVERYTHING on sale to ONLY 10 items so be sure to browse the entire sale here. I would love to hear from some of you on your favorite pieces and what you plan to buy.

The Perfect Beach Dress

I’m back!

I took a short hiatus last week, while I enjoyed my much needed vacation! This was my first week-long vacation since I graduated college over 3 year ago. Needless to say it was essential to my sanity!

I spent the week at my favorite place – the beach. Of course that required lots of [over]packing and fun outfits to wear on nights out! I must say that this dress was definitely one of my favorites (ALSO ONLY $32)!

This white dress with the black detailed embroidery kept things neutral and allowed me to play around with some colorful jewelry like these Bauble Bar Earrings. The black floppy Target hat had me ready for the beach as I initially used this dress as a cover up! Later that evening I was able to throw on some short black wedges and go straight from the beach to a casual dinner on the water.

The low open back definitely kept me cool in the heat! I also LOVE the side lace-up detail that just added the perfect touch!

Dress: Nordstrom, $32 (similar)
Hat: Target, $15 (on sale now for $13!)
Sandals: Nordstrom, $40 ON SALE!
Watch: Kate Spade, old (similar, similar)
Bracelets: Bauble Bar: Cuff Set, $28, Link Bracelet, 48
Earrings: Bauble Bar, $34
Sunglasses: Francesca’s, $14 (found on sale for $10)
