A few weeks ago we held an engagement party for my brother and his fiancé Erin. I wrote an entire post about it, which you can read here. So now for my outfit details you all have been wondering about! I have already shared on Instagram and Twitter (artfully_chic), so now I wanted to write a post about it on the blog!
Since the party was a Sunday brunch, I didn’t want to go too fancy and over-dress, but I still wanted to look nice and I thought this dress was the perfect piece! I got it from Urban Outfitters over the summer while they were having an extra 20% off all dresses. Unfortunately it is no longer available but don’t worry I have picked out some other similar options!
Also a side note about this dress purchase… it was hanging on a rack that said “Dresses $19.99 & Under.” When I went to buy the dress, it rang up for over $50. I was clearly there trying to get a bargain so I told the associate that I no longer wanted it since I thought it was less expensive. She apologized for the confusion and asked me to show her where it was hanging. I showed her the rack and she apologized again and honored the display price. So I ended up getting the dress for only $16! I didn’t even expect her to do that but if you see something like that, a lot of places will honor their mistake. Key learning: it never hurts to ask! (Politely of course).
