Baby it’s Cold Outside!

Two weeks ago we got about 4-5 inches of SNOW here in NC! We don’t normally get snow, so when we do the entire city pretty much shuts down. It was so nice to have a little 2 day break from going into the office and being able to work from the comfort of my own home by the fire! Luckily I had this super cozy jacket to keep me warm when I did venture out of the apartment for some fresh air.

Unfortunately, all the snow was gone by the next day when it got up to 68! (No wonder everyone is getting sick). But of course this week it’s back to the colder, windier temps as usual, so I’ve been wearing this jacket on repeat. Fingers crossed that spring come soon!

Colorblock Sweater

Happy New Year… I can’t believe this is my first post of 2018! It’s been quite a while since I’ve posted, the past few weeks have just flown by! If you follow me on Instagram, you will see that I’ve already taken a trip to Miami AND spent a long weekend in Asheville… and we’re not even half way through the month yet! Also, keep an eye out for an upcoming post featuring an Instagram round up of all my travel/tourist looks!

One of my favorite styles this season has been winter whites. I love testing my fashion boundaries and doing things “outside the norm.” Although, I will say that wearing white after Labor Day -once thought of as a faux pas -has been becoming more and more acceptable. In the past, I would have NEVER worn white during winter, but I am becoming more comfortable trying new styles and you should too! 🙂

Since this outfit is all neutrals, I wanted to add a pop of color with a bright purple bag! I also get SO much wear out of these brown over the knee boots. This is definitely a winter staple you should have in your closet. I got this colorblock sweater from Lord & Taylor on sale… now is a really good time to shop winter items, since most places are starting to get their spring lines in and trying to get rid of boots, sweaters, coats, etc.
